The basic materials and tools I used are: Materials: Neoprene - I used an old backpack made of the stuff, so free! Hardware Cloth - not really cloth - basically a fancy name for chicken wire, available at home center Flexible LED strips - available on eBay and such, which is where I got mine - about $15 for 300 LED strip (Mostly used on Tron Suit) Velcro or substitute Flexible Wire - I used an old ribbon cable salvaged from a computer Needle and Thread - I used heavy duty thread, but standard should be fine too Type M port and plug (x2) - For power in and output to light panel, any type of quick connect will work 10K Potentiometer with SPST switch - For dimming/power on control Tools: Scissors Tin Snips Dremel Drill + bits Soldering Iron Epic music to work to. So why not build your own? I decided to, with a twist - literally, as my panel is flexible and can conform to various shapes for mounting or to broadcast light in various directions. The end result is a fully lit stream with no bulb visible in my line of sight, which does WONDERS for the eyestrain I was experiencing (not to mention the terrible quality) when I had a 500w Halogen work light shooting over me and off the ceiling.LED lighting panels for your DSLR are great, but they can be expensive. Sorry for the wall of details, but I enjoyed learning how to make this all happen and I can't post a pic cause I'm at work. This cord plugs directly into my wall through a switch so I can turn the whole thing on all at once. I routed the cables through the sides of the milk crate and then braided the cords together for extra style points, connecting them to a 3 outlet "banana" extension cord. I then clamped 2 lights shooting at the ceiling at 45 degree angles to hit the green screen and reflect down at me, and then put a Y-Adapter and the other 2 bulbs in the 3rd Clamp Lamp facing back towards the wall I face while sitting, which is 6ft. I placed my Cam and Stand in a small shelf with the inserts taken out and placed a Milk Crate on top of that. I was in the same boat with lighting, no room for stands, so I got 3 Clamp Lamps from Home Depot and 4 100w equivalent LED bulbs. Thanks to /u/iTruthful and Conceptional for the art!
